Description

Bobrick B-233 stainless steel coat hook has an all-welded, rounded square design that can hold several pieces of clothing and accessories without harming the fabric as much as sharper layouts. Such a straightforward to mount unit is made of a hard-wearing and durable metal, whose brushed satin finish will be easy to match at contemporary commercial washrooms and toilet cubicles. So that the door hook can last for a long time, we recommend follow the maintenance guide below: wash with soft cloths and neutral solutions.

Applications:Adapted toilets for disabled, Bathroom, Changing room, Healthcare, Hotel, Public Toilet

Can I fix this clothes hook to a bathroom stall or door?

To prevent the hook screw to go through the stall or door and get to the other side, these fixing panels should be a few centimetres thick.

If you do not care about the aesthetics in this case, feel free to place the clothes hook wherever is needed despite the thinness. Bear in mind that if the panel is weak, the hook will not support a lot of weight.

Regarding clothes hooks in accessible sanitary areas, what height is compliant with the regulations?

English building regulations concerning access are explained in Document M. In volume II, some images recreate the necessary location of the fittings in accessible toilets, cubicles for ambulant disabled users, changing rooms, shower rooms and bathrooms.

You can take a look directly at these diagrams (numbers 18, 21, 22, 23 and 25) in our post about Doc M grab rails. In all examples, the hook is fixed to the wall.

As a summary, we could say that clothes hooks should be set at 1400mm and/or 1050mm above the floor level.

Regarding Ireland, according to page 80 of Building for Everyone - 5. Sanitary Facilities, two contrasting clothes hooks should be provided in all sanitary premises within the range 1050mm to 1400mm (toilet cubicles) or 1050mm to 1700mm (accessible toilets) above floor level.

What are the pros and cons of each finish?

We have written a blogpost about it. Please, click here.
