The G-Force with heat is a compact and stylish hand dryer that combines high velocity airflow with a low energy consumption heater element to provide a comfortable and quick, warm air drying experience. If your dryers are located in a colder environment or you do not like using many modern dryers that do not have instantly warm airflow then this is an excellent option. The dryer still retains a low rated power of just 1100 watts (550 watt motor/550 watt heater)

The G-Force is suitable for up to mid traffic locations (300 uses) per day and is popular in infant and junior schools, offices and locations such as restaurants and bars looking for contemporary design.

This unit comes with the option of adding a HEPA filter, which allows for an extra hygienic airflow.

The G-Force is manufactured in Europe and comes with a 2 year peace of mind guarantee.

Please note, the G-Force is available in 3 versions; there is the eco 550 watt, the turbo 1100 watt and the 550 + heat (1100) model. All models are available in a white anti-bacterial ABS, brushed satin or polished chrome finish. To decide which unit is appropriate for your facilities please read below.

Most energy efficient hand dryers in the market no longer have heater elements to keep the consumption down and rely on airspeed to dry the hands. The G-Force eco motors operate at 26,000 rpm whereas the G-Force turbo motor operates at 32,000 rpm, both motors generate enough speed to warm the airflow if in reasonably regular use or situated in a room where the air temperature is quite warm (20 degrees C or above). However, many people like the feeling of instant extra heat and in colder, low traffic washrooms it can be important, therefore we also have the G-Force eco with heat (1100). The heater element can be retrospectively added to the eco 550 watt versions.

If energy efficiency is your key priority, you will want to consider the 550 eco version, where speed is more important but you still want an energy efficient dryer, the turbo 1100 version will be the best option and when you need improved speed and comfort but want to keep the noise level down, then the eco 550 with heat (1100) will be your best option.

At Intelligent Hand Dryers UK, our ethos is to bring you as much open, honest and reliable information as possible so you can make the most suitable and informed purchase.

We endeavour to include independently obtained results and in house testing, as well as manufacturer's specifications. This gives a true reflection of dry time performance, noise and energy efficiency of each hand dryer.

Noise level testing was conducted at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and a leading independent testing facility.

We also provide in house video testing to demonstrate dry performance. This gives a visual demonstration in “real use” as opposed to using methodical scientific protocols.  The approximate dry time using this method was set when no spots of water could be seen on a paper towel after drying the hands.  This is over and above what is required to be classed as a “hygienic dry” which requires 95% of the hands to be dry after using the dryer.

How quiet is the G-Force with Heat?

Manufacturers typically measure sound levels in terms of decibels dB(A) @ a 1 metre distance in a sound proof chamber. This measurement does not take into account the increase in noise when hands are positioned under/in the dryer or when the sound bounces off walls. Where possible we supply manufacturers stated dB(A), and 2 independent tests which are more reflective of 'real conditions’.

As can be seen, the manufacturer stated noise level shows that this hand dryer is quiet in operation.  As can be seen from the independent testing this level was found to be above the manufacturer stated.  It has yet to be tested with the hand under the hand dryer.  We would still recommend this hand dryer as a relatively quiet one and much quieter than its Turbo counterpart. So it is a case of weighing up whether high speed hand drying or noise and energy efficiency are your priority

It is worth noting that if your noise concern relates to the noise carrying into different areas of the building then pitch will be just as relevant as sound output (loudness). Washing hands correctly is the best way to ensure high levels of hand hygiene.  Making sure hands are completely dry is the next important aspect of hand hygiene.

Most modern hand dryers have standard hygienic properties such as fast dry times and touch free sensors to activate. However for added peace of mind some models have enhanced hygienic properties.

What is the life expectancy of the G-Force with Heat?

So how long will this dryer last?

Hand dryers can have 2 types of motor which are:

  • A digital brushless motor
  • A universal brush motor

In theory, universal brush motors do not last as long as digital brushless motors and require the brushes to be changed periodically.  They also vary in their lifespan.  Digital motors however do cost more to repair should they fail at any point.  There are variations in the lifespans of both universal brushed motors and digital motors.

The best way to choose what is right for you is to look at your facility and the amount of use each hand dryer is expected to get.  This way it can be determined if a brushed motor hand dryer would be most suitable for you or whether investing in a digital brushless motor would be more cost effective.

How vandal resistant is the G-Force with Heat?

Depending upon the location, hand dryers can be damaged through vandalism. This includes being leveraged off the wall, damaging the outer casing and putting foreign objects into the openings. How suitable is the G-Force with Heat for disabled users?

There are a few points to consider when choosing a hand dryer with disabled users in mind.  These include:

  • Wheelchair access with regard to users being able to position their hands correctly
  • The amount of moisture that will be left on the floor after drying if units are to be used by people physically impaired
  • The noise level of some high speed hand dryers may be too loud for some users, such as users with autism, multiple sclerosis etc.

Disabled areas often double up as baby changing facilities, so considerations include leaving extra space for double buggies, noise levels for children etc.

What’s our expert view and brand comparison of the G-Force with Heat hand dryer? (Buyers guide)

We believe customers now either want a huge 'blade' style hand dryer or want a compact and stylish hand dryer. We would say the only hand dryers that really fit the compact stylish classification are the Airforce, the TurboForce, the Dolphin Velocity BC2001, the Air-Fury, the Eco-stream, the Stealthforce and the G-Force.

The TurboForce and the C-Force hand dryers are slightly more robust but are again less energy efficient hand dryers and not in the same league in the looks department. The Steathforce is an ultra-quiet and energy efficient hand dryer, it also has a slightly better dry speed performance and guarantee, its one downside is that it is not as robust as and more expensive than the G-Force.

The Air-fury hand dryer and the Dolphin Velocity BC2001 are the same dryer as the TurboForce so as per above.

So for 9 out of 10 locations the G-Force will represent the best overall value. Where severe vandalism is likely go for the TurboForce and where the most energy efficient and quiet hand dryers are required go with the Stealthforce.
