The Airforce hand dryer range was originally launched in 2007. It is now onto its third-generation model but remains similar to the original. The product is manufactured by World Dryer and distributed in the UK by PHS Warner Howard and their partners. The Airforce hand dryer remains a unique design, rather than having a single or dual air outlet, it has 11 separate air outlets that provide a pleasant massaging effect while drying.
The Airforce was the one of the first dryers to remove the heater element entirely and rely on air speed and residual heat from the motor to dry the hands. At the time of launch, it was the lowest energy-rated hand dryer on the market at 1.1kw, even lower than the Xlerator at 1.4kw and the Dyson Airblade at 1.6kw.
Dryers have evolved since then and the Airforce is no longer the most efficient unit, but it remains a hugely popular and trusted product, selling more units than any other in the last 15 years. Aesthetically, it remains compact and attractive. The Airforce hand dryer is available in 4 finishes, white, black, polished chrome and a brushed satin effect, all external components are coated with patented Steritouch anti-bacterial coating.
