Viska is Swedish for whisper, so as you might expect the Dryflow® Viska has been designed and is marketed as the ‘World’s Quietest Hand Dryer’. What’s the point of having a quiet hand dryer if it doesn’t work fast enough?  We have reviewed all brands and types, to find out which one will suit your needs best.

From £399.00 + VAT

Viska Value

At £399 + VAT the Dryflow® Viska is at the upper end of the mid-price bracket. Given that is has a 10-year warranty on parts and labour and free lifetime repairs, this represents great value.

Viska Dry Speed

The Dryflow® Viska defies everything you imagine about hand drying performance. Given the motor is only 1600 rpm you would expect the dry speed to be very slow, however the airflow design and heat creates a 12-15 second dry time, far faster than most noisy, high air speed hand dryers.

Viska Energy Efficiency

Calculating the energy efficiency of a dryer depends on 2 things, rated power and the dry speed.

The Dryflow® Viska has a rated power of 1.45kw and a per dry consumption of 4.83 watt/hours per dry This is good in comparison with traditional dryers that use 20-30 watt/hours per dry and is similar to the Dyson AB14. 1000 dries would cost approximated £1.35 which is a 95% saving vs paper towels.

Please note some of our older reviews don’t reflect current energy prices, this is based on 28p per kw/hour.

Viska Quiet Operation

55 dB(A) is the manufacturer’s stated noise level and this is accurate, this dryer is noticeably much quieter than all other modern hand dryers. It’s easy to have a conversation while drying your hands, although its fast drying so you won’t be chatting for long! The University of Oxford tested The Dryflow® Viska against all major models and found it to be the quietest dryer by some way.

Viska Vandal Resistance

The Viska is as robust as they come. Thick reinforced stainless-steel cover and backplate, slim design, anti-vandal screws. We would not hesitate to recommend this for even the harshest public toilet environments.

Viska Life Expectancy

The long-life, low revolution brushless motor is very durable with an expected life of as 20,000 hours, 10-15 times the standard lifespan of a dryer. It is also backed up by a 10-year warranty and FREE lifetime repairs!

Environment

The Viska is built from up to 80% recycled materials, an unusually high ratio not found in other hand dryers. Although we are yet to carbon footprint the dryer, recycled material typically lowers the footprint of the product by 6-8 times. The Viska has an industry-leading life expectancy which means while other dryers may need replacing 10 times and create a x10 carbon footprint, this will remain in service. The energy use per dry is also low, so this is an exceptionally environmentally conscious product.

Conclusion

The Viska is a stand out hand dryer, quick-drying, incredibly quiet, slimline, long-lasting, great aftercare support, consumes a small amount energy and very cheap to run. The Viska hand dryer is suitable for every location.

The Viska low noise output particularly excels if being used by lots of young children, people with sensory difficulties or the elderly. The slimline design makes it appropriate for small washrooms and disabled toilets. When you consider most public toilets need to cater for everyone, the Viska is a highly inclusive hand dryer. The coloured LED lights also make it attractive to use and add a futuristic element to your washroom.

If it meets with your budget, the Viska is a wonderful choice.
